About

When it was founded in 1997 in Minneapolis, Women With A Point was the first women-only needle exchange in the United States. Several years later, their harm reduction services expanded to include everyone and the name was changed to AccessWorks! This collection began in May 2017 as a way to document the history of harm reduction in Minnesota. The collections highlight the work of many different people and organizations working in harm reduction, HIV/AIDS prevention, youth outreach, homelessness, and public health.
